Welcome to My Lab

Hello and welcome to my laptop lab. Home labs can be as simple or elaborate as you can afford. I wanted to explore what can be accomplished with one or more laptops using open source software. My first opportunity to explore open source software and what looking back was my first “Home lab”, was a Dell laptop donated to me by a family member. I finally had an opportunity to test things without destroying the family computer. I quickly ran to the bookstore and purchased a Red Hat Linux 7 book with CD. I will say I learned many things on just that small setup. Over the years my career and home life has kept me busy. I found myself missing the time I’d spend researching and learning new techniques and software.

I decided it was time to jump back into a homelab and explore open source software once again. I also wanted to share my journey aka lab notes with others who might be just starting out and this blog was created.
